Novell Gaza facilitates a creative and intellectual bridge between youths in Gaza and Sweden via literature and photography. The project enhances mutual capacity-building, as we connect the youth of Gaza, not just with each other, but also with the youth of Sweden.

The different parts of the project enables the youth of Gaza to reflect on issues such as human rights and democratic values while also sharing these thoughts with the youth of Sweden. The opportunity to express themselves while also spreading the stories around Gaza and Sweden, improves the youths opportunities for freedom of opinion and expression.

From the perspective of internationally well-versed Swedish persons, it is highly interesting to receive firsthand accounts of the – otherwise – untold stories of Palestinian youths.

The anthology published as a result of the short story writing competition is used and read by schools, book fairs, cultural organisations and libraries in Sweden.
